FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Preflight Puts It All at Your Fingertips
Preflight is easy to navigate and easy to use because key actions and controls are located in the main tabs. Preflight also shows you final output colors on your screen, saving you the hassle of having to print in order to see the final colors of each job.
Increased High-Production Throughput
When you simply cannot afford to have your printers at a standstill — for even a short time — you can’t afford to be without ProductionHouse. You’ll find ONYX Workflow products in more high-production environments than any other RIP product.
Ink Usage Tracking and Reporting
ProductionHouse Version 7.0 allows you to obtain ink usage and cost estimates on any job before printing. You can also view ink costs in the RIP-Queue’s job log. This innovative feature shows each ink channel usage and estimated cost and works with all dot patterns.
Web Portal for Web-Based Print Job Management
Manage your print jobs from any computer on your network with a web browser. You can also submit jobs from a PC, Mac, or Unix-based compatible web browser on your network.
Superior Flatbed Workflow
Experience a faster RIP time when using Stochastic halftone screening. Tiles can now be processed individually, so printing starts when the first tile is processed. New Nesting in 7.0 automatically rotates tiles and jobs for better media savings and print speed.
SUPERIOR CONTOUR CUTTING WORKFLOW IS STANDARD
Printing and cutting has never been easier or more profitable. Now you can take standard Postscript files with contour cut paths and print them on any printer, then cut on any of a range of industry standard contour cutting devices including Graphtec, Mutoh, Roland, Summa, and generic cutters. You can also use standard inkjet Print and Cut devices from Graphtec and Roland to easily print-and-cut jobs
Part of the magic of the Production House cutting workflow is the new CUT-Server, which steps your production operators through the cutting workflow.
The Onyx RIP-Queue maximizes your flexibility when printing and cutting contours, by completely handling the printing of "registration marks" recognized by many "electric eye" cutters. The RIP-Queue prints these specific marks needed by your contour cutter on any of the hundreds of different printers that it supports. Registration is then automatic when you use the Onyx CUT-Server to cut out the job after printing.
An optional barcode reader can automate the process even further, so operators can get more cut jobs out flawlessly.
IN-HOUSE CONTRACT PROOFING WORKFLOW AND TOOLS
Production printing is all about keeping your print buyers happy with your print services. Production House can improve your print service by helping you communicate colour with your print buyers. The Production House RIP-Queue workflow can automatically print colour proofs of any job to any proofing printer. So with just a simple click you can offer your print buyers colour contract and concept proofs of their large-format jobs without affecting your production.
Production House proofing tools also include media and ICC profile analysis tools that tell you how big you media colour gamuts are and how they compare. With Media Analyzer you can view and compare media colour gamuts in 3D animation as well as qualify media and measure gamuts before calibration or profiling. You can also see gamut analysis reports that list all of your spot colours and exactly how well each of your media profiles can match those colours. Another tool even allows you to proof and print postscript colour separation files on any printer.
SCREENING PATTERNS AND CUSTOM SCREENING
In addition to dot patterns like Stochastic and Error diffusion, Production House offers a wide range of screen dot patterns that simulate traditional screen printing. Production House comes with a set of default screens for silk screening, newsprint and SWOP. You can also create your own custom screening dot patterns with custom dot size, screen angle, and frequency. Use these features to create precise rosette screens or take advatage of other proprietary screening technologies including Line Screen, Smooth Screen, and Ordered Dither screening.
POSTERCOLOR
PosterColor is a proprietary colour rendering technology that gives CMYK posters brilliant-looking saturated colours when you apply ICC profiles. Many print operators know that applying ICC profiles with dull-down the colours in CMYK print jobs. With PosterColor you get the gray-balancing and hue matching benefits of ICC colour management, but with the fully-saturated look that your printer inks can actually achieve.
