What makes Summa cutter the best in the market?

Reliability

Last 8 - 10 years*, minimal downtime as cutter does not experience regular breakdown. All Summa cutter have 3 years warranty. The competition offers 2 years at best.

 

Roll - Up System

With the S-class 140 and 160, Summa can also supply take-up roller and media crack. The take-up allows the user to run long jobs, which are automatically rewound after the cut process. Media racks are also available. These are stacked on the back of the cutter where extra vinyl rolls will be stored.

 

Wide range of knives

Summa offers 2 kinds of drag knives:

  • Standard 36* knife optimised to do commen vinyl cutting
  • 55* Knife for thicker materials

A drag knife cutter can cut up to0.25mm with a standard blade, while using a sandblast knife you will be able to cut media up to 0.8mm.

Summa offers 3 kinds of tangential - knives:

  • Standard 36* knife optimised to do commen vinyl cutting
  • 60* knife for thicker materials
  • double tip 36* knife

A tangential cutter can cut media up to 0.25mm with a standard blade, whilst using a sandblast knife you will be able to cut media up to 1.2mm.

 

Flexcut

Altermating, one lenth is cut completely through the cardboard, and one lenth is cut half through. This way a kind of tear-off line is created which makes sure the cardboard keeps a certain rigidity to be transported through the cutter while it is easy to take out the design afterwards.

Some Summa users also use this function to save application tape.

Swivel or drag knife

Its simplicity has made drag knife technology, the most commonly used. In order to cut corners the knife can rotate freely in the knife holder. To orientate the knife direction. a drag movment is made assuming the knife tip will follow accordingly. Summa cutters include enhanced methods to optimise this drag movment to obtain the best possible cutting qualily.

 

Tangential knife

Tangential cutting technology guarentees a superior performance compared to comonly used drag/swivel knife techniques, The direction of the tangential knife is electronically controlled, by which T-series are capable of cutting very precise and with very high pressures. The perfect cutting makes weeding very easy, saving you a lot of valuable time.
